Why Sound Therapy?
Let me ask you something. When was the last time you actually slept? Like really slept? Or got through a whole day without that low-grade fog sitting behind your eyes, making everything feel just a little harder than it needs to be?
When you think about it (and science confirms this), the human body is mostly water and energy. Energy moves through you via your nervous system — and when something disrupts that flow, you feel it. Maybe it shows up as stress you can't shake, exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, or emotions that seem to live somewhere in your chest or your gut with no way out. That's not weakness. That's a blockage. And vibration can move it.
Sound therapy works by using frequency to reset your body's energy lines — essentially giving your nervous system permission to let go of whatever it's been white-knuckling. The result can look different for everyone. Better sleep. Mental clarity. A deep breath that actually reaches the bottom of your lungs. Sometimes an emotional release you didn't even know you needed. Trauma stored in the body has to go somewhere — sound gives it a door.
What is sound therapy?
Sound therapy is the intentional use of sound, vibration, and frequency to support the body's natural ability to rest, recover, and rebalance. Using instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, and the human voice, a practitioner guides your nervous system out of stress and into a calmer, more regulated state — one where healing becomes possible. It is non-invasive, requires no prior experience, and is as simple as lying down, closing your eyes, and letting sound do the work.
Sound therapy is the ancient, science-supported practice of using sound, vibration, and frequency to restore balance within the body — calming the nervous system, clearing mental fog, and returning you to a state of ease. Have you ever felt off-center, scattered, or just plain out of sorts? Chances are your body is simply asking to be reset. Through intentional sound and resonance, this practice gently guides your system back into harmony, leaving you feeling clearer, calmer, and more like yourself.
Why might it be good for you?
Sound therapy is accessible to almost everyone. It is especially beneficial for those experiencing stress, anxiety, sleep difficulties, chronic fatigue, grief, or a general sense of being overwhelmed. Many people living with trauma, PTSD, or nervous system dysregulation find deep relief through regular practice, as sound has been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the body's natural rest-and-repair response.
When might sound therapy not be a good idea?
Sound therapy is generally very safe; however, please consult your healthcare provider before participating if you have a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted device, are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, have recently had surgery or active inflammation in the body, or are currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis or psychosis. When in doubt, a brief conversation with your practitioner before your session ensures the safest, most supportive experience for you.

ABOUT BRITTANY
If hospitality had a family tree, my name would be carved deep in the roots — five generations deep, to be exact. I’ve spent over 30 years creating experiences that connect people, from boutique restaurants and rooftop venues to international events like the Formula One Grand Prix and The Kentucky Derby.
These days, my work blends that same spirit of connection with my passion for mindful living — yoga, sound therapy, and wellness. I believe joy and peace aren’t luxuries; they’re essentials. Whether I’m leading a sound bath, curating a retreat, or gathering people around a shared table, my mission is simple: to help others find balance, beauty, and meaning in the moment.
